The China University of Political Science and Law - Fudan University – HK & Macau Law Students Winter Camp was held in Beijing and Shanghai in 2018. The camp consisted of 9 days of academic exchange activities and on-site visits. 58 students and teachers from several universities including the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Macau, and Macau University of Science and Technology, came to participate.
Students were given a chance to deepen their knowledge of Chinese politics, economics, and culture through a range of topics. These topics included China’s foreign policy and its future development, the rule of law and its trajectory and an introduction of China’s civil procedure.
The camp also consisted of a number of visits to important institutions including the Haidian People’s Court, the Hong Kong and Macau Basic Law Committee of the National People's Congress, and the National Museum. Students and teachers had the chance to attend a discussion with Mr. Yang Zhaoye, director of the Office of the Hong Kong and Macau Basic Law Committee of the National People's Congress, on the formulation and implementation of the two Basic Laws. The group also visited a number of cultural destinations including Tiananmen Square, the Palace Museum, and the Great Wall.
